We had the privilege of attending a fantastic WordCamp last weekend in Kent Ohio. The event started on Saturday so we arrived Friday evening to get our interactive VR booth setup at the venue. We were immediately impressed by the convenience of having the event venue at the same location as the recommended hotel. This is always preferred.
As the Saturday sessions got into full swing, we found that there are many enthusiastic WordPress users in the area. Many of the conferences that we attend consist mostly of developers, but in this case it seemed there were quite a few new WordPress users who are actively trying to grow their knowledge. This tends to be a is a sign of a thriving WordPress community in Kent, Ohio.
Many of the attendees headed over to the networking after-party which was located at a nearby bowling alley. Food and drinks were provided and the organizers brought two very cute puppies which were quite effective conversation starters.
As usual, Sunday morning was a bit slow due to a highly productive networking after party the previous night... we find this is a common occurrence at WordCamps, not that we are complaining ;)
All in all, the event was a complete success. A shout out goes to the friendly organizers who put together a great event. Thank you!
