Important: Now that Joomla has improved it's updated process, CloudAccess.net is no longer performing auto-updates for Joomla 3+. If you have a Joomla 3 site, our Support Team would be happy to manually update your site upon request. Our stripe process will continue to search and update Joomla 1.5 and 2.5 sites to ensure they are at the latest version.
The stripe process begins with a custom built daemon (a program that sits on the server) that essentially roams around carrying out the tasks that it is instructed to accomplish. When the daemon arrives at your site, it will first inquire about the current application version (example: Joomla 2.5.26). In the event that your site is already up-to-date, the daemon will simply move on to the next site. If your site requires an update, the daemon will proceed with the update process. You will receive an email notification at least 48 hours before an update process is started. When it is found that your site requires an update, the update daemon follows a very specific process.
