WordCamp Ann Arbor 2017

It’s that glorious time of year again in Michigan… the air is getting chilly, the leaves are starting to change and our sandals are placed back on the shelves for hibernation. Thankfully the fall season also brings WordCamp Ann Arbor to the region, an event that we have looked forward to all summer long.

As with last year, the venue for the conference was located inside the beautiful Rackham Graduate Building in downtown Ann Arbor. The fourth floor included an amphitheater, two conference rooms and a large hall for sponsors, the merch table, and complimentary baristas.

We were impressed by how well the conference was organized. For example, the booklet which contained all conference information was conveniently connected to our lanyards. The schedule was color-coded to suggest specific sessions for the various types of attendee (User, Developer, Business, Designer). There was even a small WordPress themed crossword puzzle to pass the time in between sessions!

Throughout the weekend we were able to jump into a few sessions and the speakers were wonderful. One of our favorites was the “Lessons Learned from Selling WordPress to Enterprises” by Rahul Bansal, where he talked about the expectations of enterprise vs SMB.. the content was spot-on based on our own experiences.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the conference and look forward to sponsoring and attending next year.
