Last November at the Joomla World Conference in Boston, our CEO and founder Gary Jay Brooks sat down for an interview with Peter Bui at the Joomla Beat. This is super cool news because we like to tell our story, but we’re also super big fans of the Joomla Beat - it’s one of the great resources that has come out within the last few years for sharing Joomla news and such.
In the podcast, Gary tells the story of CloudAccess.net from the very beginning, and, although it’s been captured before, Peter did a great job getting Gary to reveal a few new details. Listen to the entire podcast below.
It’s really wild to think about, but next month will mark the four year anniversary that Gary and CloudAccess.net was awarded the demo.joomla.org contract. Before that point, the Joomla demo experience lasted a mere 30 minutes and turned many new users away. Gary was instrumental in getting Joomla into the hands of thousand upon thousands of new users - users who might not have experienced Joomla without a 30 day demo trial with free training and support. To date, almost 500,000 demo sites have been launched and hundreds of thousands of dollars generated from demo clients has been paid to the Joomla Project as part of the contract.
We’d like to offer a cheers to Peter Bui for doing the podcast with Gary, and a big bottoms up to the entire Joomla community for letting us serve you for so long. It’s been a real pleasure. On a side note, we’d like to offer our sincerest congratulations to Peter for being elected to the Joomla Community Leadership Team along with Alice Grevet, David Jardin and Dianne Henning. Hats off.
